Annie Mae, a 12 week old Rat Terrier, was presented to us for vomiting and lethargy.  We treated the puppy with Transfer Factor, fluids and other medications.  After several days of hospitalization and treatment, Annie Mae had responded completely and we were able to send her home.

Lucky, a 2 ½ year old black lab cross, was presented to us after being hit by a car.  The owners wanted to do what they could for her.  Digital Imaging revealed that the right hip was luxated out of place.  We also found that the left back leg had a ruptured collateral ligament.  The owners consented to orthopedic surgery of the hip and the back left leg.  We recreated the ligament with a permanent flexible suture material to repair the ruptured ligament.  For the hip we placed a toggle pin anchor in the pelvis and a polypropylene filament through the femur to secure the hip in the socket.  Lucky continues to do very well.  The owners are happy with her progress.

Chicken

Healthy ChickenMama Chicken was presented to us after being stepped on by a horse.  The owner’s daughter was very attached to Mama Chicken.  X-rays showed that she had a mid-shaft fractured tibia.  The owners consented to orthopedic surgery.  We placed a pin in the leg and hospitalized her for a few days.  Mama Chicken recovered very well.  The owners were very happy with the outcome.

A dog came into the clinic having swallowed a fish hook.  The x-ray shows the hook.

The clinic is able to perform surgery with an endoscope.  Inserting the endoscope and with some manipulation, we were able to remove the fish hook and the patient recovered nicely.

The iguana had a tumor beneath his eye.  The clinic removed the tumor and he is doing well.

This painted turtle had a fungal infection on his back and an ear infection.  After treatment at the clinic, he is recovering nicely.

Columbus Animal Hospital is proud of our dedication to small animals.  We try to find adoptive homes for some of the animals that have been abandoned.

This was a dog that had been abandoned.  She found her way to our clinic.  The special thing about this dog is that she was pregnant.  Not long after she came to the clinic, we delivered her litter of puppies.
